Mark Wagner Craig Scanlon
AUGUSTA, GA (Updated December 23, 2025) — Club Car®, a global leader in golf cars, low-speed utility vehicles, and personal transportation, announced in March 2025 that President and CEO Mark Wagner would retire effective August 1, 2025, after 29 years with the company—including the last 8 as its top executive.
In his letter to employees, Wagner reflected on the company’s achievements: “We have achieved remarkable milestones, navigated historic challenges, and built a culture – a strong Black & Gold family.” He emphasized the importance of a smooth transition amid ongoing product launches and growth initiatives.
The retirement plan proceeded as announced, with Wagner stepping down in August. On June 9, 2025, Club Car named Craig Scanlon as the new President and Chief Executive Officer. Scanlon brings over two decades of executive leadership experience in powersports, automotive aftermarket, and industrial sectors. He began his career in 1998 selling Club Car Carryall vehicles at Ingersoll Rand (Club Car’s former parent), later serving 18 years at Polaris Industries (rising to Chief Marketing Officer) and most recently as CEO of K&N Engineering.
Jared Hutchins, Principal at Platinum Equity (Club Car’s owner since 2021), praised Scanlon: “Craig is a proven leader with an impressive combination of operational expertise and deep industry experience. His success driving growth and innovation makes him the ideal choice to lead the next chapter at Club Car.”
Scanlon expressed enthusiasm about returning to the company: “I’m honored to return to Club Car at such a pivotal time. The usage of low-speed vehicles is evolving, and I look forward to leveraging Club Car’s rich history and brand while embracing innovation that serves our channel partners and customers.”
